Construction Process
Project team members evaluate the existing Section 80 line as they prepare for construction that begins in June 2023.
Construction Process
- Laying matting and building access roads for construction vehicles while protecting the area.
- Tree and vegetation trimming within our right-of-way boundaries to reduce possible transmission line damage or power outages.
- Prepping for installation of all structures, including drilling, setting bolt cages, and pouring concrete for the foundations that is needed to support less than 20 structures.
- Setting the poles either on foundations or by directly embedding them into a hole in the ground which we then backfill with gravel, tamp, and compact.
- Stringing the wire (conductor) onto the new poles. Some mats will be picked up and reused at other project locations, and areas will be temporarily stabilized.
- Removing existing wire and structures; then removing matting.
- Restoring the right-of-way by grading, seeding, and applying mulch.
- Restoring access roads. Improvements to existing gravel roads made by CMP during the project will remain in place for the benefit of all.
